Par is based on the difficulty and length of each hole (from the tee to the hole), and is generally divided into par three, four and five holes. To complete a par three hole in three strokes is called PAR, which is par. In the same way, completing a par-four hole with four strokes is also called PAR.
Two strokes less than par, one stroke to complete a par three hole, two strokes to complete a par four hole, and so on, are called eagles.
